Does it return the ayah text?

Yes — Arabic text of the matched ayah, the Surah name, and the ayah range.

Can I find an ayah by typing it instead?

What about different qira'at?

Hafs is the default. Warsh and other qira'at work but accuracy is lower; we're expanding coverage.
