PILLAR · AYAH-FIRST SEARCH
The ayah you can't place — found.
Sometimes you remember a phrase, not a Sheikh. Maybe the imam said it in passing, maybe it's been looping in your head since Fajr. Type-search needs you to spell the Arabic. Quran Identifier doesn't — hum the part you remember out loud, or play back the clip, and we'll hand you the exact Surah, ayah range, and the original Arabic to copy.

Up to 18 seconds · ~94% accuracy on clear recordings · 200+ qaris
Audio-first, no spelling required
You don't need to know how to spell الْفُرْقَان or which Surah it's in. Play or recite the part you remember and we'll find it.
Every ayah of the Mushaf, including the rare ones
Muqatta'at openings, Sajdah ayahs, the long Madani Surahs — full Hafs coverage with Warsh on the way.
Arabic text, tafsir, and translation in one screen
Matched ayah comes with clean Unicode Arabic, an English translation, and one-tap links into Tabari, Ibn Kathir, and Qurtubi.
Ayah range, not just one verse
If you recorded across two or three ayahs, we return the full range so you can lift the whole passage at once.
How it works
- Step 1
Play or recite the fragment
A 6–18 second clip of the part you remember — your own voice works, the original recording works, a YouTube playback works.
- Step 2
AI transcribes against the Mushaf
Speech-to-text against the verified Mushaf locates the ayah even when only a fragment was captured.
- Step 3
Open the ayah in context
Read the surrounding verses, copy the Arabic, or jump straight into tafsir.
Use cases
- Recover the ayah you forgot mid-revision (recite what you remember; we find the rest)
- Find that one verse the khateeb quoted without naming
- Caption a recitation clip with the precise Surah and ayah range
- Help a student locate a reference they only heard once
- Pull the Arabic text of an ayah you only have in audio form
Loved by listeners worldwide
"I'd been hunting for the qari behind a clip I heard in a friend's car for two years. One 18-second recording and Quran Identifier got it — Sheikh Maher Al-Muaiqly. Insane."
"I travel a lot for work and hear recitations everywhere — taxis, mosques, YouTube. This is the only tool that actually nails the Surah AND the reciter from short clips. Daily use for me now."
"As a Quran teacher, I use it weekly with students. They record any recitation they love and we discuss the qira'at and the qari together. Worth every penny of the credit pack."

Frequently asked
How short can the clip be?
6 seconds is enough for famous openings. For middle-of-Surah verses aim for 12–18 seconds so the transcription pass has enough phonemes to lock onto.
Does it return the Arabic text?
Yes — Unicode Arabic of the matched ayah, the Surah name, the ayah range, an English translation, and direct tafsir links.
Can I record myself reciting instead of playing the original?
Yes. As long as the Arabic is recognisable, your own recitation works — it's the words we match against, not your voice.
What about typing the verse?
Quran Identifier is audio-first by design. If you can type the Arabic accurately, a regular Mushaf reader is faster. The whole point of this tool is when you can't.
Does it work for Warsh and other qira'at?
Hafs an Asim is the default and most accurate. Warsh and Qalun match when the wording is identical to Hafs; we're expanding qira'at-aware matching.
